Thank you for your Birthday wishes. Slasher I may only have 1... 2... 3... or maybe more drinks.
I am still lurking around here although been busy for the last... Oooh four to nearly five years.
Not going to say too much other than I've been working with a dear friend (Another AGS'er.) on a large project.
Keep your eyes open in the Gip thread cos there may be a new game being posted there VERY soon.

I LOVE your Draconian version so much and have already downloaded.
On a side note. I really wouldn't worry about the Linux thingamajigs.
Never used Linux nor do I ever intend to use Linux. I make games for Windows.

Thanks for the reply. I did wonder if it was caching or something like this.
The funny thing is I have ccleaner and it cleans all the other crap from Temp but leaves the thumbnails behind... Weird.
However... Using the Windows 10 tool for cleaning Temp folder works like a charm for me but have read that it doesn't work for other people.

Oh well... I am glad that it isn't only me who finds these thumbnails there. I was doing a lot of research and not finding anything and started to wonder if it was only me.

Ah... The project is going well, thanks.
I think I can say we are at about 80 percent done now. Still a lot of work to do though.
Keep an eye out in the GIP thread because I think soon-ish we will post our game and progress there.

General Discussion / Video Thumbnails in user temp folder (Win 10)... Hundreds of them!!

Hi all good peeps.

For those of you who know me... I am still around just working hard on a game with another AGS'er.

Okay... Just to be clear I am using Windows 10. And... I should say that my Main Browser is Google Chrome.
I want to ask a question that I have been trying to find a solution to.
Recently I looked inside my "C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Temp" folder (With show hidden items checked)
and found hundreds of thumbnails of youtube videos I have watched.
Why?... What use are they there for, except taking up space.

I cunningly thought to myself "I will try watching youtube videos in 'Incognito' mode and see if that stops the thumbnails from appearing".
This has no effect... The thumbnails still appear.

It is easy to clear them and of no real nuisance but... Why are they there at all?

Edit: Just found that it isn't only youtube videos... Videos that I look at in general (Videos that friends send me) are also being 'Thumbnailed' in my temp folder too... WHY?
Every time I click on a video (on line) it makes a thumbnail in my temp folder.

General Discussion / Site problems fixed and my Games are now downloadable again.

Hi all good peeps of AGS.

A few days ago now I was shocked to discover that my web site (which had been very kindly hosted for me) had vanished.
This was the site that I uploaded my games to for others to download here.
Unfortunately I have no idea as to how long it had been like this.

However, I can now report that everything should be back to normal.

So, If you have been trying to download either "The Decorcist" or "The Lost Prince Of Lorden - Part 1" then I can now confirm that both are downloadable again.

My apologies for not noticing this before.

Sorry.
I just wanted to say that I seem to have cured the problem by increasing the sprite cache setting (within our games winsetup) from the default 20mb to 50 and now the error file isn't being generated.
I am not sure if this okay to change though.
I am wondering if the problem lies with 2 rather massive objects I have created for a diagonal scrolling effect. One object is the horizon that scrolls right and the other object scrolls diagonally over top of the horizon to give the effect that you are traveling up a mountain.
Could this be the reason for the error file and also why I have had to increase the sprite cache setting ?

Ah... I see.
I thought it was strange because I have never seen this before and have always compiled my games the same way.

Hi, All good peeps of AGS.

Tis I RetroJay.
I have been lurking around here for some time now but have been busy working on a project with a friend, using ags 3.2.1
I am also using Windows 10 and have just come across a rather strange Error text file in my compiled folder that says this...

!!!! SPRITE CACHE ERROR: Sprite cache should be empty, but still has 4 bytes.

For the life of me I can't understand what the hell is going on here.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening, please ?

I have been meaning to do this ever since I saw that my game "The Decorcist" had been nominated for an Award.
Things have been a little hectic of late.

"The best Programming Award"... WOW !!

I would just like to say thank you to those of you who nominated my game for this most awesome of Awards.

Also... Something else I have been meaning to say...
For anyone who has played "The Decorcist"... Did you find the two hiding places ?
There is one in the Mansion and one in the Garden.

Hi All good Peeps.

AH HA !!

I now see what I have been doing wrong, with a very similar problem.
I have been spending days trying to create a "Pool Game" ...with ... Limited success.

All I had to do was ...
Do THIS with THAT and multiply IT by THAT... then times IT with WHAT and then WHAT again to equals ... WHAT !!

Could anyone give us a clue as where to start scripting something like this, please.
Maybe then we can look at our scripts and understand what the hell we are doing so wrong.

I would love to get my "Billiard Game" Working... I don't think I ever will... BUT...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
